Amneal Pharmaceuticals leases 147,978 square feet in Yaphank

Amneal Pharmaceuticals is expanding with its leasing of 147,978 square feet in Yaphank.
The company signed two long-term leases at 19 Nicholas Drive to expand its office, warehouse and distribution operations.
Amneal, one of the largest makers of generic drugs in the U.S., operates out of a 410,000-square-foot building at 50 Horseblock Road in Yaphank, where it employs about 700 people. The company, which plans to transfer some of its manufacturing to 50 Horseblock Road from its plant in Hayward, Calif., also has other locations in Hauppauge and Commack. The Nicholas Drive space was needed to relocate Amneal’s warehouse facility in Commack and to move warehousing operations out of its existing Yaphank facility to increase its manufacturing ability.
The Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency assisted the company’s expansion with economic incentives.
Richard Cohen of Ashlind Properties represented Amneal Pharmaceuticals, while Ted Trias and Chris Costa served as in-house representatives for landlord Rechler Equity Partners in the lease transactions.
