Manhattan Shade & Glass Co. Inc., a third generation maker of high-end window treatments and glass and upholstery products, is set to take 32,000 square feet on Ricefield Lane in Hauppauge.

The space, which should be operational this fall, will be used for offices and production, freeing up more of its Manhattan showroom to display wares. The move also consolidates 5,000 square feet on Central Avenue in Hauppauge.

“It just seemed to make sense to move the rest of our operation out to Long Island,” said Douglas Schulman, the 79-year-old company’s vice president.

Harry Stavro worked for landlord, Rechler Equity Partners, while Richie Cohen of Ashlind Properties represented Manhattan Shade.

Spring subleases Melville space

Cohen helped find two tenants for a building at 20 Melville Park Road in Melville: G3 Worldwide Inc. and International Warehousing Solutions. G3 Worldwide, which trades under the name Spring, is consolidating its 12,000-square-foot U.S. headquarters in Melville and 20,000-square-foot distribution facility in Jericho into 44,000 square feet at the new location. The world’s largest private international business mail provider should open at the end of the month and employ about 70.

Spring was represented by Jerry Guerra and Gerald Widen of Syosset-based Paragon Group LLC, while Cohen worked for Henlopen Manufacturing Co. Inc., from which Spring is subletting.

Meanwhile, International Warehousing Solutions took 23,000 square feet of high-bay warehouse and distribution space.

Cohen, a broker for 24 years, also leased 3,000 square feet of office space on Austin Boulevard in Commack to Born Free Foods, a maker of healthy cookies and desserts. Cohen represented both sides in that deal. Finally, RHW Realty purchased a 15,000 square foot office/warehouse building on Austin Boulevard.
