A fast-growing Long Island pharmaceutical manufacturer is expanding with a new property acquisition in Hauppauge.
LNK International, a maker of over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, has purchased a 40,000-square-foot industrial building on 3.5 acres at 50 Davids Drive for $5.35 million.
LNK will use the facility for its expanded manufacturing operations.
The seller, Meopta USA, had used the building for manufacturing its specialized optical products to clients that included companies in the aerospace, defense and sports-related industries. Meopta, which is headquartered in the Czech Republic, is relocating those operations to its facilities in Trinity, Fla., resulting in a loss of about 42 jobs, according to a filing with the New York State Department of Labor.
LNK’s corporate headquarters are located nearby at 22 Arkay Drive.
Richard Cohen of Ashlind Properties represented the buyer and the seller in the Hauppauge sales transaction.
“The new property is near LNK’s business headquarters and is a natural fit for their growing business,” Cohen said.
